A: Select the movie, cinema and show time of your choice then click the Confirm button. Its just a few simple steps!


Q: What browser do I need to best view your site?
A: IE 5.0, Netscape 6.0 or above. To experience the advanced features, it is recommended that you use the latest version available.


Q: Are the seats available through CityLine the same as those at the box office?
A: You can choose your exact and favorite seats with our real-time booking system, just like walking to the box office and buying your tickets there.


Q: What are UA's ticket prices?
A: Ticket prices vary by showtime and cinema location. You can check the ticket prices for each show on the top of the Seating Plan after you have login. The ticket prices are subject to change by UA Cinemas. (Click here for more info on ticket prices)


Q: What are CityLine's service charges?

Q: Is your site secure?
A: Yes, our online booking system utilizes Secure Sockets Layer, SSL 3.0, the most widely used encryption technology available today for secure commerce transactions. You can see a lock appears at the bottom of your browser window. On key secured webpages, e.g. the registration page, the login page and the pages concerning buying tickets. Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: We accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club. Your credit card account will be charged after you have confirmed the order and all tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.


Q: What happens with the information I register with you?
A: Don't worry! All of the personal information submitted is kept confidentially and will not be shared with any third parties. For more information, see Privacy.


Q: How do I select seats?
A: You can select your favorite seats in consecutive order on the seating plan after you have chosen the movie, cinema and showtime.


Q: How do I obtain my tickets once I have booked?
A: You can obtain your tickets by swiping your credit card in our ticket dispensing machines located at any UA Cinemas.


Q: Can I pick up tickets for one UA location at another UA location?
A: Yes, sure. This does not apply to non-UA cinemas. For non-UA cinemas, you have to go to the specific cinema which you booked tickets.


Q: If I don't pick up the tickets, will I be charged?
A: Yes, your credit card was charged when you made your transaction.






Trouble Shooting

Q: What should I do if I've forgotten my CityLine ID?
A: Just send us a email from your registered e-mail account at cityline@cityline.com.hk and indicate your HKID or registered credit card number.


Q: What should I do if I've forgotten my password?
A: Please go to Password Inquiry for help.


Q: How come when I log in I cannot get the seating plan?
A: To best view our site, we suggested you to use the latest browser version. IE 5.0, Netscape 4.6 or above should be OK. Please also check whether Java applets are enabled in your browser setting by going to View-Internet Options-Security and checking your settings.


Q: I booked but I didn't get a Confirmation page. What should I do?
A: You can Check Your Transaction Details online - please do this before trying to purchase tickets again to avoid double booking. Or you can call 23176666 and after choosing your language select the option to "Check your transaction details" and input the number of credit card you used to book.


Q: What can I do if I cannot get my tickets at the Ticket Dispensing Machine?
A: Please approach the Box Office for assistance. Present your credit card and if your booking transaction was completed the Box Office staff can help you to find your transaction record and print your tickets.


Q: When I confirmed my booking I got an error message telling me to contact Customer Service. Why?
A: Did you previously make a booking but miss the show? Or have you booked a lot of tickets recently? If so, your credit card may be temporarily suspended. Our customer service representative can assist you to check the status of your account and reactivate service.


Q: How do I contact CityLine Customer Service?
A: Contact CityLine at cityline@cityline.com.hk or call customer service at 2314-4228 during our office hours (Mon-Sat 10am to 10pm, Sun & public holidays 12:30pm to 10pm). Calls will be connected to a voice mailbox when the lines are busy or after office hours. Please leave your name and phone number and our staff will call you back.

Q: Why can't I buy other cinema's tickets through CityLine online?
A: Not all cinemas have robust ticketing systems that can support frequent requests from Internet users. We are working closely to extend CityLine Internet booking convenience to other popular cinema chains as they improve their systems.


Q: Why can't I book seats in different rows at the same time?
A: Unfortunately the system can only allocate us consecutive seats in a single transaction. But since you can select your exact seats booking another set nearby is no problem...


Q: Why do I need to pay a service charge?
A: CityLine does not share any ticket revenue from our cinema partners and the service charge covers only some of the costs of our systems and development team. We've lined up money-saving Restaurant Benefits, so you enjoy more than just convenience from CityLine.


Q: How can I change my registered credit card?
A: Check out Update Your Registration Details in our online Help Desk. There is a function for you to change every details you've registered with us (except your CityLine ID). However, you cannot have your CityLine account details changed when you have active bookings in our system.


Q: Can I book tickets with two or more browsers at the same time?
A: No, we strongly recommend our customers use one browser only while booking through our website. Otherwise, the transaction details may be interrupted while processing.


Q: Why can't I use virtual credit cards for e-commerce through CityLine?
A: You are required to swipe your credit card (the credit card you have registered with CityLine) in our ticket dispensing machines located at any UA Cinemas after the bookings are completed.


Q: How many tickets can I purchase through CityLine?
A: You can purchase up to 9 tickets for each transaction and 12 tickets with each credit card.


Q: Can I book couple seats through CityLine?
A: Yes, you may book couple seats if they are available at the cinema site through our service.


Q: Do I need to purchase tickets for my kids? Can I purchase discount child, student or senior citizen tickets through CityLine?
A: You have to purchase tickets for your kids if they are taller than 1 meter . Discount child, student or senior citizen tickets are not available through our service. Please approach the box office for discount child, student or senior citizen tickets.


Q: Can I use coupons through CityLine?
A: We do not accept any coupons. Please go to the box office for any purchase with coupons.


Q: What should I do if I forgot to bring my credit cards to retrieve tickets?
A: Please contact our customer service during our office hours (Mon - Sat 10am to 10pm, Sun & public holidays 12:30pm to 10pm).


Q: How can I have tickets cancelled if I booked wrong tickets?
A: All tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable . You cannot have your seats cancelled or bookings changed after the bookings are completed. You should check the transaction details before you confirm your order. We are not responsible for any mistakes made by our customers during the transaction process.


Q: Can I click 'CANCEL' to have my order aborted after I've pressed 'CONFIRM'?
A: No, once you click 'CONFIRM', your transaction cannot be aborted. When bank approval is obtained, your credit card will be charged. All tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable .


Q: What should I do with my tickets if a typhoon 8, 9, 10 or blackrain storm signal is hoisted?
A: All cinemas remain open during typhoons and blackrain storms. But if you purchased tickets before hoisting of a typhoon 8, 9, 10 or blackrain storm signal and can't make it to your show, UA Cinemas have a special arrangement, you can go to the respective cinema directly to exchange the raincheck voucher within 2 days after the typhoon date. The voucher is for a ticket to the same cinema and valid for 7 days.


Q: Do I need to show proof of identity after purchasing category III movie tickets through CityLine?
A: Yes, you are required to show proof of identity to prove that you are over 18 at the entrance of UA cinemas if you've purchased category III movie tickets through CityLine.
