| How
does it work?
Verified
by Visa provides you with a password to protect your online transactions
against unauthorized use, just like you use your PIN at an ATM.
Once you activate your card with Verified by Visa, no one else can
use your Visa card number at any participating websites/online stores
- without your personal password.
Furthermore, when you register Verified by Visa service, you are
asked to create your own Personal Assurance Message (PAM). Therefore,
every time you pay online, remember to check your PAM before you
enter your password to ensure that you are dealing with your Visa
Card Issuer.
Registration Steps (View
Registration Demo)
1. Go to your Visa Card Issuer's Verified by Visa registration web
page.
2. Provide your Visa Card number, expiration date and the personal
authentication information specified by your Visa Card Issuer.
3. Select a Personal Assurance Message that will ensure you are
dealing with your Visa Card Issuer at the time of purchase.
4. Select a password that you will remember. You will need to use
this to confirm your identity each time you make a purchase.
5. Your Visa Card Issuer will notify you when your registration
is complete.
6. Shop online with the same trust and confidence you expect when
you use your Visa Card at stores in the physical world.
Shopping Steps (View Shopping Demo)
1. Select tickets you want to purchase from CityLine and proceed
to the Transaction Preview.
2. Upon your confirmation of the ticket transaction at the Transaction
Preview Page, CityLine, a Verified by Visa merchant, will connect
with the financial institution that issued your card (issuer) to
check if your card is secured with Verified by Visa.
3. Your Visa Card Issuer will then initiate a Verified by Visa pop-up
window on your computer screen that includes your Personal Assurance
Message.
4. Look for and confirm your Personal Assurance Message, then enter
your password. Your card issuer will then confirm your identity
to us.
5. Your payment is then authorized and your order is placed. It's
that simple!
